The NS Savannah Association is hosting MARAD's public site visit of the ship. Arrive anytime after 10:00 AM and depart by 4:00PM. Entertaining and very informative presentations in the Eisenhower Room at 11:00 & 1:00. This is a self guided day, roam the ship at your own pace including the reactor containment! (Engine and control room tours are guided, please sign up for them once aboard the ship. These tend to fill up quickly so early arrival is recommended)
Park right on the pier, please do not block the tug boat spots, they are needed for the crews. Wear weather appropriate clothing, much of the ship is climate controlled some areas are not. No open toed shoes please. Sorry, NS Savannah is not ADA compliant, there are only limited facilities for the…
